New to pickleball in PCMC? Start with one game.
You don’t need to know all the rules before you get in touch. If you can bring a few friends and a willingness to miss a shot or two, you have a good place to start.
THE PADDLEKRAFT COURTS · MOSHIWhat is pickleball, anyway?
It’s a paddle sport played across a net with a perforated plastic ball. You can play singles with two people or doubles with four. For a first outing with friends, doubles is a good way to share the court.
The court is smaller than a tennis court, but there’s still plenty to learn: placing the ball, moving with your partner and knowing when to let a shot bounce.
Sort these three things before you come
First, decide who’s playing. Then pick a date and a time. Finally, tell us whether everyone is new, so we can discuss any guidance you need and confirm equipment arrangements.
A standard court is ₹600 an hour. With four people sharing equally, that’s ₹150 each for court time. Paddles and balls are included. Ask separately about any coaching charges.
A few rules you’ll hear on court
The serve starts the point and travels diagonally into the opposite service court. The return of serve must bounce before the serving team hits it; the serve itself must also bounce before being returned. That’s the two-bounce rule.
The kitchen is the non-volley zone next to the net. You cannot hit a volley while touching it, and your momentum after a volley cannot carry you into it. You can step into the kitchen to play a ball that has bounced.
This is a quick introduction, not the full rulebook. Ask for a scoring and rules walkthrough before starting your first game.
Keep the first session simple
Wear sports clothes and shoes suited to moving sideways on a court. Bring water. Spend the first few minutes getting used to the paddle and trying to keep the ball in play.
If your group would rather learn with a coach, ask about beginner coaching and current availability. A court reservation on its own does not automatically include a lesson.
No playing partner yet?
Message us and ask about current social play or beginner options. We’ll confirm whether there’s a suitable session to join; shared games depend on the schedule and other players.
For children aged 6 and above, the weekend kids’ coaching page is the best place to start. For colleagues trying the sport together, use the corporate enquiry so we can plan around your group.
